Season preview 2015-16

Winter is coming – and that means curling is back.

The first competition of the season from a Scottish perspective has already been completed – Teams Brewster and Murdoch competing in the Baden Masters in Switzerland.

Focus now switches to Canada, as it hosts the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard and then the Tour Challenge, the opening Grand Slam of Curling event of the year – where four Scottish teams (Brewster, Murdoch and Smith on the men’s side, Muirhead on the women’s) take on the world’s best.

But next weekend also sees the Braehead Junior International take place as part of the European Junior Curling Tour – the platform for young teams to gain vital experience on their path to the top of the sport.

In addition to the elite and junior events, there will also be increased focus on mixed curling as a result of the exciting news from Olympic HQ this summer…

All in all, there is plenty to get excited about this season, whether as a curler or spectator. And you can follow all the latest here at The Roaring Game Blog or on Twitter, @RoaringGameBlog.
